The Church exists to promote Spiritualism, to provide a meeting place where people can come together in peace and love and provide an opportunity to search and discover spiritual truth.
Through spiritual communication we hope to provide evidence of survival of the human spirit after the physical death. We do not profess to provide proof, witnessing a demonstration of mediumship should be viewed as an opportunity to gather your own evidence; it is for you to decide whether the evidence is substantial. In time we hope you will gather sufficient evidence to swing the balance of your opinion to accept the concept of survival of the spirit.
Acceptance of that concept opens the door to spiritual progression, where you will gain the ability to accept every day as an opportunity to evolve, full of spiritual experiences that will challenge you but bring just rewards in the end, when they are faced with the intention to do what is right. We reap what we sow, a good deed done will always be returned many times over.
All the mediums who appear at our church give their time freely. There is no deception involved, the services are carried out in broad daylight and any spiritual communication carried out as naturally as if you were sat in conversation in your own home. The services follow the format of opening prayer, a short period of silence for meditation, reading and address by the medium all interspersed with a hymn. Clairvoyance is carried out afterwards, usually about 30 to 40 minutes followed by a closing hymn and prayer. The medium may come to any member of the congregation and needs only an affirmative response if the evidence provided can be accepted. If you cannot accept what is given please say so, be honest in your response and it will enable you to weigh up the evidence fairly. Sometimes we have to reach back in time to find acceptance of a memory link that is given, you may find that subsequently something that did not spring to mind during a communication will hold value later; you may hear the medium ask you to hold a piece of evidence if they are very sure of what they are giving you.
If you wish to visit our church you can be assured that you will receive a warm and friendly welcome. Members of the church are from all age groups and represent a cross section of the community. There is nothing to fear and we are sure you will find a visit uplifting, thought provoking and enlightening. Bring your sense of humour too as communications given are often funny in their nature and some of the mediums have a lovely way of presenting their philosophy.
